FullertonWireless Network Map
The coverage map is only approximate, because connectivity depends not only on the strength of the signal emitted from the Tropos
radios which is 1W, but more importantly upon the strength of the signal transmitted by the user’s laptop or PDA to a FullertonWireless
node. Poor connectivity may be improved by purchasing an inexpensive computer card with a transmitter chip that produces a stronger
signal. For example, laptops with Centrino chips transmit a 40mW signal, whereas accessory chips can be purchased which include either
100mW or 200mW transmitters.
